Hi everyone!

Bruno & Othello appear to be getting along just fine. With Othello being
much older, their activity levels differ greatly. There have been a few
things that needed to be worked out, such as sleeping arrangements, toys,
and of course the food dish. Seeing how Bruno was brought to my attention
via this list and the IMPS web site, where can I send a picture of Bruno
for the angel wings. Does Bruno qualify? Also Bruno seems to have bonded
with my husband and I better than I had hoped for. We're still working on
the barking, and the leash training. Any ideas out there for getting this
8 month old min pin to stop biting and playing with his leash? Thanks
everyone!

My 1st rescue?!?
Help me out here. I was contacted by a person here in N. CA who wants to
find a home for their min pin. I have agreed to take this 9 month old
neutered min pin in my home and work with him. He has been having marking
issues. He's been to some obedience, but was dismissed since he was too
distractive due to urination. I guess he would urinate on the owners leg!
From what I understand he gets along well with other dogs, children, is
neutered, up to date on shots. What should I expect? What questions
should I ask? Is there anything that I should be aware of? Thanks
everyone!
The 9 month old neutered min pin is named Bruno! I thought about taking
Othello along. I still have him on a leash when ever we go outside or in
the car or at someone's house etc. I plan on getting Bruno on Wednesday.
I forgot to ask about food. I can definately do that. Thankfully I will
be home for the next week and a half due to school vacation, so I will be
able to take the time to acclimate Bruno and start working on
reinforcement of potty training and the like. Someone mentioned about
sleeping arrangements. Due to this pups marking issues, he has been moved
from sleeping in a crate to one of the previous owner's sons bed. I don't
know how well he deals with a crate, but he would urinate in the crate, on
clothes, on carpet, in various places and the owners leg. I am not sure if
the issue is not being reinforced, discipline, dispelling the urine odor
or markings, or not allowed outside in a timely manner to go 'potty'.
Again, any suggestions is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to see him!
Even though the urination problem sounds bad, I am really looking forward
to seeing this little guy. My husband and I have not decided if we are
going to keep him. But we have both decided to try together to get this
little guy housebroken and socialized. I don't mind fostering, and I
wonder if perhaps I could/should change his name. I think probably not if
he has already started obedience.
I picked up Bruno this morning. He's a bundle of 9 month puppy alright!
No urination incidents yet. However he does have a slight barking issue
and leash pulling issue. I think the problem with the leash issue is that
he was on one of those leashes that adjust. I'm not sure. But he does bite
at it, and then forget it, and then walk with it. The barking is when
he wants something, or he sees a cat. Any suggestions on how to break
this? Otherwise this guy is in good health, a little on the big side, but
looks great. I think things will settle down a bit once he gets better
acclimated. But otherwise, no fears, just appears he needs discipline. He
has put his open mouth on my hand, and has bitten me twice so far. These
bites have not been hard, and may be out of playing, but this is
unacceptable in this house. Also, he hasn't been registered with the AKC,
and I have these papers. What should I do? Thanks guys! Oh, and he LOVES
my husband! My husband is thrilled to death to have a min pin actually
want to approach him (unlike Othello who has his moments with him). So any
advise or encouragement is appreciated.
