Hi -
My name is Joy and I have 2 IMPS resuces and am now an IMPS volunteer. I have a
couple of pictures that I would like to have placed on the webpage if possible.
Thank you so much.
The first one is of Sarah an IMPS rescue snuggled up in my husbands coat with my
other min pin Magnum. Sarah is the one with the big ears. This is their very
favorite spot to be besides my bed.
The othe picture is on the day that I brought home Maizie, a rescue from the
Ohio puppy mill closing. My son decided to see if he could fit in her crate,
and did, and she is looking at him wondering what in the world he is doing in
her crate.

Here is a picture of Maizie and Magnum keeping warm by laying on my boxer
Conoco. As you can see in this picture, Maizies hair is growing back in very
nicely.
This is a picture of Stormy who I am fostering. He is a real sweetie and loves
to snuggle. The vet thinks he is about 2 years old.

hi Mag,
I'm sending you a bunch of pictures of my kids. In the first one they're
arranging pillows and towels to suit themselves. From left to right,
Choco, Nestle (yes, the surviver of bowel obstruction surgery),
Precious and Liebchen.
Here are Liebchen (top) and Precious relaxing after their first agility trial.
This is Rocket with Sadie and Brutus, my two puppy fosters. A little difference in size!
This is my mother's rescue, Moxie, who now rules the McCardell household in Iowa.
This is Rocket Man, my HW+ foster. He's doing very well but is not pleased about being on a diet!!
The following photos really depict a success story. They are of Wes
and his dog, Dexter. Dexter was adopted from Lynn and John,
waited for weeks for transport, was unhappy during the transport and
bit a couple of people. So, he was deemed too aggressive for a child
and almost recalled. It turned out to be a match made in heaven (by
Lister?), as can be seen in the pictures. Wes's mom says she
frequently has both dog and boy in timeout. When one gets into
trouble the other is right there with him!!! <VBG>
Wes and Dexter playing in the backyard -- what a yard, big enough for a dozen pins and their boys!
Here's Dexter jumping to get a toy from Wes. I think you'll all agree,
this dog is truly home!!!! :-) :-)
This is Wes's dad with Dexter. He was not home when Dexter arrived, and there was a little
concern that the two "men" would not be compatible.

Fri, 12 May 2000 12:44:55 -0600 - from Brutus & Herc, via Sue
Hi Sue:
Just a note to tell you how we are doing and to thank you for finding
us a new home.
As you know Herc is a computer apprentice working on catching the
moving mouse and he must be getting pretty good at it as Richard will
not use it when Herc is at the desk, myself I'm working on my
swimming lifesaving badge. There is nothing better then taking a break in the
middle of a long run with a walk down the middle of the creek
however there are some deep holes that one has to learn to swim out of, so I
am learning lifesaving in case that is needed. I think I must be doing
all right because Richard is always saying that mom (Margaret) will
really be proud of me and she is always telling me how good I smell.
We must be doing all right as Richard put us in charge of the exercise
program for those dumb old bird dogs. You know what a bunch of
girls are like with nothing to do but eat and sleep they needed help.
We are sending some other photo's most of Herc the big show off but
you can see that we are on duty and happy about it.
We also have to keep watch over the house as the people we live with
will just let any one in and you know what that could lead to. Herc
and I have worked out a plan where he lays on the sofa under a blanket
and I lay directly on top of him, that way when the swan's man (or any
one else) comes in its not one dog its two and a big surprise.
If we decide to enroll in K.U. next year we'll let you know in plenty
of time to help us find a room, but I would not count on us coming
down there as it looks as if we are needed here.
Your 4 pawed friends

We adopted Keets (formerly Brutus) from Sue Mohr the first part of May, and what a wonderful
little guy we recieved!! He's so full of energy he's wearing our five year old out (and she's
loosing weight too). We couldn't have gotten a more affectionate puppy, friendly to everyone, and
a real winner with my son's friends (they wouldn't let him go to the prom with Nick, I guess he
needed a bow tie too. Thanks Sue from the whole Conquest gang!!

Hi Mag,
Here is a picture of Taz with his new mom, Angie Wright here in
Kansas. He got to spend the very first weekend with her at the Lake
of the Ozarks where her entire family promptly fell in love with him!
He's a small min pin, beautiful red stag, but so chubby he looks like a
hedgehog right now! LOL However, Angie already has him on
prescription diet food and is dedicated to exercising both of them, so
it won't be long!
Sue
And from Angie's mom....
Wanted to send along a picture of the latest success stories for your
Min Pins. Angie is very happy with Taz, and it appears that Taz is
quite content with his new owner.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Mag,
Here are a few pictures to go on the minpin list website.
This first one is of my min pin Magnum, he turned a year old last month.
This next one is of King, he is my third IMPS adoption and the one that I
brought home from TX who was anemic and heartworm positive. You can tell he is
100% once again!
This last one is of Beanie, on the left, Maizie in the middle and Chrysta on the
right. This picture shows how small Beanie and Chrysta are.
Thanks so much,
Joy

Hi Mag,
Finally scanned some pictures I should have sent long ago. I'll send
one at a time. The one labeled "Dex-Wes" is of Dexter who was
fostered by Lynn and John in Georgia, finally transported to his new
family in Kansas City, bit someone on the way, and was almost pulled
from his new home. Obviously, he's doing just fine!
The next four are of Millie of the Ohio puppymill bust last year. Rie
had named her Fannie. She was the smallest of the three chocolate
females, and originally we thought she might be pregnant, but wasn't.
She's also doing very well in her new home!
The last is Petie who was found as a stray in Kansas City,
fostered by new volunteers Paul and Cheryl Belcher who adopted him
after having him one day!

This is an up of our boy Simon, (Mo. Puppymill Dog)
Simon has been "HOME" two weeks Today!
He has two new brothers; Casey (7 yr. old Golden Retriever) and PePe` Le Pew (2 yr. old MinPin), and a sister
- our Pack Leader - Nellie (7 yr. old German Sheperd/Chow Chow mix).
Simon quickly established a bond with each of the dogs. There was almost an instant trust between
them. We used this to our advantage - you see Simon does not trust Humans at all. Casey's job the first week
was to lead Simon in and out of the house. PePe` is the youngest and most playfull, so he appointed himself
as tour guide of the house. Of course this included the important stops like my bed - the heated waterbed,
Pam's bed - with the electric blanket, the best sunbathing spots in the house and, the two "look-out" spots - I
think of them as Doggie TV.
He preferrs to sleep with Pam under the electric blanket, with his head on her shoulder. She said he is
becoming quite a BED HOG!
Each day Simon is becoming more relaxed and less afraid. We are very careful not to raise our voices to him,
or push him to do something, if we do he runs outside and cowers in the farthest corner of the yard, and Pam
or I have to carry him into the house and gently assure him that it's OK.
I do believe that with a little more time Simon will feel more at home - he has already found a home in our
hearts. Thank again to IMPS for bringing Simon to us. -- BEAN

Hi Mag,
Here is a picture of our little Beanie, 5 pounds if he's an ounce, with
his new mom, Mrs. Colson, and two of her grandchildren. They live
in Makato, KS. Beanie came into rescue with Lady, both strays, and
were fostered by Joy Haig in Wichita.
Beanie is quite happy in his new home. Mrs. Colson's son is Richard
Colson who adopted Hercules and Brutus from us, and is fostering
Rocket Man. (He's the farmer who exercises the pins through the
fields on his 4-wheeler. There are pictures of them elsewhere on the
site.) Richard's mom still lives in the house on the farm; Richard lives
in town, though only 5 or so miles away. Beanie won't go outside in
the snow and cold for his mom, so Richard goes twice a day to let
him out. Richard is amazed at how much such a little dog can hold,
but he never has accidents in the house!
A week or so after Mrs. Colson had Beanie, she had a hair
appointment in town. Richard said, "we worried for two days about
what to do with the dog..." He suggested putting him in the bathroom,
but she was afraid Beanie would get cold and said he'd be all right
loose in the house. However, Richard brought out a babygate and
shut him in the bathroom with the door open. When they returned
home, there was Beanie in the living room lying on the rug in front of
the wood stove. Comment from his mom, "....see, I told you he'd be
all right!"
Beanie is truly home!!

Hi Mag. Here are two pictures of Mugsy, the male puppy I originally
named Scamp. He was picked up by his new owner (and new IMPS
volunteer) Holly Smith on Sunday. She couldn't stand leaving him at
home today, so took him to work with her. NO ONE is getting any
work done!!

Hi Mag,
Here is a note from Sadie. She is the little dog who came to IMPS
from a shelter in Missouri accompanied by her 3 week old puppy in
November of last year. Sadie and baby lived with me until January
13, when they both went to their new families. Sadie's new dad flew
all the way to Kansas City from Edmonton, Canada to take her home.
Hi there, here are some pictures one of me with my mom and big
brother Dune and one of me with my friend Betty the Bassett...she is
Todd and Andrea's child but she visits us when they go on vacation.
We go to visit her on Saturdays and I get to play with her.
My mom says that I am the most perfect little dog in the whole world
and I am very happy. I won't forget you though, andI will always be
grateful that you rescued me and looked after me until I went to live
with my mom and dad. Talk to you soon.
Love, Sadie

This is a picture of Nick with Rusty and Dusty the day Rusty rejoined
his brother.
Here is Nick with Rusty and his new "brother" Darien, who seems to
be very happy with his new home!
Here is Choco the day I picked her up from Dee. Her owner died,
the family couldn't manage her, and I kept her.
Here is Preston in his new home with Renee and Ron Goolsby here in
Lawrence. I've forgotten the names of all his new friends, but there is
a teacup poodle in Renee's lap, Preston by her side, a Sharpei on the
couch behind Ron's head, two 5 month old Great Dane pups, and
their other minpin in Ron's hand. He has a very loving new home!
Now we're down to the pictures everyone has been waiting for, my 5
puppymill kids! First, the two males with their new friends at the vet
clinic.
Here is the large female, 13 1/2".
And the two smaller females. The one on the right is the smallest, 10
1/2", and is the one who is definitely pregnant.
They are all sweeties and are very well liked by everyone at the clinic.
They all greet the girls with tails wagging and happy faces, and line up
at the run gates every morning to receive medication hidden in a bit of
canned dog food. They know each will receive this "treat" and are
very polite about it, waiting their turn with waggings nubs! They're
even doing pretty well with bathroom duties on a leash in the fenced
yard behind the clinic. They're going to be affectionate additions to
their future new homes!! :-)

Herc & Brutus Update
We are out here in north central Kansas with a farmer who was kind
of tough on us to start with making us mind and walk on a leash and all
kind of things like that, he even made Herc lose some weight and then
he took us out and made us run with his 4-wheeler.

He called it exercising but do you know what Herc and I really like
it. We are up to about 3 miles a day at about 10-mph and our 200-
yard dash at the end of the run are now up to 25 mph. We have learned
how to run and jump; those old tumble weeds no longer jump up and get us
we can go right over the top of them now.

As you can see in picture mp1 I am up front leading and showing the
girls where to go and Herc is in the rear making sure they get there.

Richard, the guy you gave to us leaves a little to be desired, like
not cleaning our half of the pick up windshield. I swear some times
you can't see out for the smears and dog prints but all in all Herc
and I have decided that we will keep him.

Mokka's New Home
Thank you all for helping Mokka find his way "home"!!!! We adore him
and he is settling in well. He sleeps in a crate at night but that will
soon end as he is doing so good at housebreaking. He tries to bite my
Husband when he is picked up or petted unless I am there to "coo" at him.
He lets me brush his few teeth and bathe him w/o much of a fuss. We are
trying to teach him how to NOT wet himself when going potty and he is
showing minor improvement. His breath is still horrific but we get through
the kisses anyway.
Our Chi. PePe is adjusting.....slowly. They attempted to play a few
times and it is quite a joy to see.
Attached is a photo of Mokka and his siblings after bath and ready for
bed.
I thought you might like to know that this placement seems to be
working out beautifully.
Thanks, Brenda and the Gang
