Hi Mag,
Here are more pictures of Sadie in her new Canadian home. Here's
the note from her mom, Jennifer.
This is my kind of letter from foster homes! Sue
"Hi Sue, I hope all is well with you and your kids...your own and the
rescues. Sadie is well and happy...she is extremely housebroken now.
She now will run to the door and scratch if she wants out, if I
don't notice right away she will come and find me. She knows how to
sit on command... only if there is a treat in it for her of course. She has
fit in so well and it seems as though she has been with me forever...she
is so much in my heart that I can't imagine a time without her. We love
her dearly and can't thank you enough for letting her come into our
lives! I have attached a slide with a couple of pictures. Stay well! I will
talk to you soon.
Jenifer"

Since the adoption they have had a baby. Looks like Jon (baby) and

Hi Mag,
Here are pictures of Mickey, who was adopted by Kim and Derrick
of Kansas City. A KC shelter actually called rescue for this
dog because the shelter workers couldn't handle him! He was biting
everyone, and they didn't think he was adoptable, but were willing to
let us give it a try. He did not do very well in his first foster home, so
Sue Overley in St. Louis picked him up. She and her husband, Ron,
did a great job with him. He had another person wanting to adopt
him, but Mickey nipped at her. When Mickey was presented to Kim
and Derrick he went to them immediately, never nipped, was in their
laps, etc. He really chose his home!!

From his new mom:
I will keep you posted!

I adopted Cricket (formerly Blossom) from IMPS. Picked her up from Joy in
Wichita on Sept 1st. She joins my two dobermans, Abby & Basco. She seems to
be adjusting just fine to our NM climate. She wakes up each morning full of
energy, ready to face the day!

This is Pixie and her new Mommy and Daddy. She was adopted as fast as she was put on the
site. I guess she just had the appeal even without a pic. She will have a very happy life. They
drove all the way here from Cheyenne to pick her up they didn't want to wait for transport to
help out. :) LUCKY GIRL

Hi Mag,
Here is a letter from my little Fudge-Fudge accompanied by pictures.
Fudgie lived with me for nearly 3 months through heartworm
treatment and spaying before traveling to her new home in Texas.
Sue in KS
Dear Mom,
Hi! This is your little girl Fudge - I just wanted to write to you
and tell you how much I love my new home and my new family. But
firstI want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my foster
mom, so that I could even get to have a new family. Without you, that
would not ever have been possible.
I am very happy now all the time, and I'm not so afraid as I used to
be --- and I'm getting braver all the time because I feel safe with my
new family. I even have a happy new name - Emma! When I hear my
new name I perk up my whole happy little face and my eyes sparkle and I
hop and prance around, because I know someone is talking to me. I
have learned to come when I am called, and how to walk on a leash. I
love going for walks. Now, about my life here...
First of all, you should know that I have two big brothers who really
look out for me. Merit is the oldest --- he's ten, stag red, and just
a little bit bigger than me (but I think HE thinks he's a great dane).
He barks at stuff when the house needs guarding, so I bark and growl
with him, too, just like I'm a big bad dog! Its exciting playing
guard duty! Then there's Otis --- he's 8, black & tan, and way bigger
than me. Otis and me like to take naps together. Sometimes I lay on
top of him because he makes a good pillow, and we keep each other
warm. Otis likes to climb on the back of the couch and look out the
window a lot. My mom has a stool under the front window just for us
little guys, and when I get up on the stool I can see out, too!
Sometimes I sit on the window sill (I am the only one little enough to
do this!) and just enjoy the sun shining in on me. I have learned to
jump up and down off the couch, too, like Otis. Otis even taught me
how to pee in the back yard instead of in the house - I watch him go
pee and then I go pee right after him.
And then there's my new mom... she's neat. Do you know that she
makes all of our meals??? Imagine that. I get sliced up raw chicken
necks, which are just to-die-for, and lots of ground-up fresh veggies,
which I love, and fresh pumpkin and squash and sweet potatoes. Do
you know that I don't even have to take my yucky Metamucil any more?
Now that I don't eat any grains I have a slim little waist, and my muscles
are getting really firm from plenty of exercise, so I am looking more
trim and fit. My coat is getting darker and glossier from all the
vitamins and oils my mom gives me. She usually cooks an omlette
especially for us on Saturday mornings, with all sorts of good stuff
chopped up in it, like fresh zuccini and broccoli and garlic and
parseley and red bell peppers. Sometimes we get to eat catfish and
shrimp for dinner - yum! AND... we even have our own vanilla
icecream (fat and sugar free of course) that we get sometimes as a special
treat. Oh my gosh its good! I'm still licking the bowl long after
its gone! I love icecream!
I get to sleep with my mom and my brothers every night - we all
cuddle up together in my mom's big bed. I have my own special smooshy
pillow; sometimes I sleep on it, and sometimes under it, but always
snuggled up right next to my mom. If she turns over, she turns me
over right with her so we can still snuggle! I also have a car seat
that I get to ride in in the car. Its really Merit's, but he shares
with me and we sit in it together! Its built up high, so I can see
out when we go for rides, and its nice and soft and comfy. I keep my
afghan that you gave me in it, so I can cover up and go to sleep
whenever I feel like it. I have tennis balls! Lots of them! And I
get to hide them around the house, and my brothers don't even take
them from me. And I get bones to chew on! My teeth and gums are
looking and feeling so much better, and they don't bleed any more! I
can chew on hard stuff just fine now.
I am very happy here in San Antonio, and I wanted you to know that,
so your heart could be happy and you won't have to worry about me. I
will always be grateful to you for the gift of my new life. Thank you
so very much! You get a gold star for being my guardian angel.
I love you, Emma

home here. She is such a doll!
Here's another picture for the site. This is Chester our lab-x with our two IMPS minpins,
Ruby and Scamp. Quite a crew I've got in the making here! lol I think they are all going to be
great friends. This is Ruby's second full day here and Scamp is already trying his darndest to
get her to play. Right now the are both crammed in the doggie bed under my computer snuggling.
Too cute!
Thanks!

Liebchen went with me as a spectator
to the AKC National Agility Trials in early November (I don't know
how to travel without at least *one* dog!) Of course, there were
vendors and I couldn't pass up this collar and blanket! Here she is

The first one is my little Rebecca and her new brother Rebel sunning
themselves in their new home. They really have a rough life! Rebel
was adopted first by Peg and Susan of near Madison,
WI, from our own Barb K. When Barb saw Rebecca's picture
and write up on the website she thought Becca would be a perfect
addition to the Shears/Landes family. So, she went to work on them.
The rest is history. Rebecca is the one on the left with the tippy ears.
This is Rebel relaxing with Peg. These senior kids provide their moms
with more giggles. Who said older dogs were no fun??!!?? I'm sure
the list is tired of my forwarding Rebecca stories!

Hi Mag,
Sam's new family drove all the way to my house from South Dakota
Saturday night to pick him their new family member! Here he is with
his new human brothers and Bailey, their chow. Following is their e-
mail to me the next day, and attached is a picture of Sam with his new
family.
Sue,
Everything is wonderful here, Sam is really starting to show his little
personality already. He was a little timid of the boys this morning but he
has really warmed up to them tonight. We took some pictures to put in
our Christmas letters ( which I am really late on this year, Oh Well !!) We
found a little stuffed cow that has become his new toy I think. He runs
and chases it and throws it in the air, he has so much energy, he is just
what we were looking for in a new pet. Last night on the way home he
was curled in my lap, and when we would stop for a break he always got real
nervous when he couldn't see me anymore. Then when we took a nap
break he curled up in Rodneys lap and then reached up and gave him a little kiss,
then decided that was enough for him and came back over to my side.
As I am writing this he and Rodney are curled up in bed watching a movie. He
is wonderful. We love him. Thank you so much for allowing him to become a
part of our family. It was really hard to let Sissy go last night also.
She is a comedian.I asked Chuck last night to please give her new family
our e-mail address so we can keep in touch with them and hear how she
is also.
I'll send more soon , just wanted to let you know things are great and
send you some pictures of our Family.
Thanks again

Hi Mag,
Here's a note and picture from Paul in Myrtle Beach, North Carolina.
He adopted Honey from me and Sassy I think from Pam's region.
Becky had adopted Sadie (non IMPS dog) from somwhere in Michigan.
All three dogs are in the 6 to 9 year old range and I think all three came
from breeders or puppymills.

Hi Sue,
Attached is a pic of Sadie, Sassy, and Honey on the right. The pretty
lady is Becky (he he) as you probabbly guessed. We are now living
together so we have a house full of 3 pins. :) We love them like crazy.
There are our kids!! Say hello to Pam for me. Who knows, we may even
foster sometime! Hope you had a great holiday. Keeep in touch.

Hi Mag,
This is an e-mail I received this morning from Sadie's mom along with
a picture. Sadie came to me from a shelter in Missouri a year ago
Thanksgiving, accompanied by a 3 to 4 week old puppy that I named
Minnie Mouse. Sadie's new dad flew to Kansas City from Canada to
pick her up one year ago!
Sue in KS
Hi Sue, well it has been almost a year since Sadie came into our lives. I
have to thank-you again for letting her come to us, I can't tell you how
much I enjoy her. She is just a marvelous little dog and my very best
buddy. Anyway it is almost our anniversay which I have designated as
her birthday and we will celebrate it each year. I have some really cute
pictures and wanted to forward them to you. I hope all is well with you
and all the little ones. Please know that this little one is loved and cared
for... although tommorow she has to go to the vet for her teeth cleaning
so she may have a different story to tell you.
Regards,

Sue,
Since we don't know when Rex's birthday is we decided
his Welcome to the Family party would also be his Birthday
party. I've attached some pictures of our newly adopted
boy with his family.

Mickey pix

He's fine, as you can see.... I am gonna try to get some more pictures
on later! He sleeps in his bed at the foot of our bed until early morning,
then he crawls in bed with us. He loves the yard! He's adjusting well! Oh,
that's moose tied to the string Derrick has-drives Mickey CRAZY!!! I have
totally spoiled this dog beyond all reason-he is so attached to me more so
than Derrick. I think he's getting used to our work schedules. We are
gonna get a baby gate so he can roam the kitchen during the day and not
worry about setting off the alarm. He's fighting getting in the crate
during the day . . . who can blame him. We'll leave it in there anyway so
if he wants to lay in it he can. He usually crashes around 9-9:30 every
night (earlier than us) on the family room floor then drags himself up to
the bedroom and lands on his bed. Occasionally he'll try to climb onto our
bed, but we just pick him up and put him in his. After 2 or 3 times, he
gets the picture and stays all night. Pretty smart dog.
