Mag this is from a new MA volunteer who adopted Max now Rex last
March....maybe her comments will help someone:
Then, miraculously, homes came through
for my two foster dogs and things settled down with just him and his big
sister, Daisy (bulldog). I decided to start retraining him from scratch
using only positive reinforcement. It worked! He no longer soils the house
except once in a great while in case of emergency. He barks less (thanks to a
humane barkstopper collar from Petco) and is crate-trained. I installed
screen doors and though he does still run away now and then, it's nowhere
near the way it was.
Best of all, his personality has warmed up completely. He is no longer
fearful, has not snapped me the way he did in the beginning, and he lays his
head on my knee when I am on the couch. He sleeps in bed wrapped around my
feet.
All I can think is that someone abused him or housebroke him too roughly, and
this affected his adult behavior. He is like a different dog now and I am so
glad I stuck it out and did not return him as I originally feared I might
have to.
Just to let you know!

This is Phoebe. Pat, from Mass. picked her up at a shelter and I brought her to Dee for fostering. She
is the most frightened little thing, but starting to come around with Dee. She must have been abused
and probably by a woman, but she is coming around and even looking for a few snuggles from Dee.
These photos were taken the day she arrived in Maine. She is so sweet, but so skittish and frightened.
She will need a very special/quiet home when she is ready to go. It breaks your heart to look at those
eyes!!! She is safe now and Lister is looking out for her!!!

Mag!!
This one is just too cute!! This is Clyde, now Rory, who Pat from Mass. had as an owner give up. They
bought him at a pet store and THEN asked the landlord!! Luckily for him, they gave him up to rescue
and I helped Pat place him in a home here in Maine. He is now with a young girl who works at my Vet's
office. He gets to come to work with her and it totally spoiled by all the staff. I get to see him often and
he is just the best little boy!! His new Mom is in heaven!! Pictures of them will follow. This is of Pat and
him at a transport meeting a week before he was placed.
Thanks!!

Here is a photo of Poppy for the web site. She is listed in Mass with Pat and Pat asked that I
have this added to her spot. You might add to her write up that she is being treated for an eye
ulcer, but healing nicely, thus the cone. She is a lively girl, don't let the gray muzzle fool you!!
Thanks, Amy

Here's one for the web site. This one of Colby, I wanted to show because of the awesome winter
coat I found for her. It is made by Fido Fleece and is fleece lined and velcros from head to
tail. Toasty warm and waterproof!!! I found it at Petco!!
Thanks so much!!!

Mag,
I have attached portraits of my babies (23) and the other 3 are family pics
of all of us. You can pick which one of them with me you think is best, and
put it on the website along with the one of them! Thanks for all you do.
It can't be easy keeping the world happy as you do - so thanks for all your
hard work on behalf of the babies.

Hi mag!!
Here is a photo of Phoebe, Dee's little foster who was so frightened
when we got her. Probably abused pretty badly. Folks can see her first
picture the day we got her by looking in the Archives. I think it was
around Oct. 17th. Her expression on this new photo shows what a good job
Dee did with her.
She looks so much more settled and happy!! This one was tough for Dee to
let go, but she is now with an older couple and their other MinPin and
spoiled rotten. The man wanted one for his own, their other MinPin is
really his wife's dog. Phoebe always seemed to prefer men, so I think
this is a perfect home for her!! A tough one to let go, but Dee is tough
herself and knows she needs to keep doing this fostering and not keeping
them all!! Three cheers for Dee!!!
Thanks mag!! I have never sent you a photo this way, I hope it works OK
for you.

Hi mag!!
Would either of these pictures be able to be put on the web site? I thought they were awefully cute!! Although, she got
Jess' name wrong. She is NOT Jessie!! I am particular about that because her previous owner called her that and we
don't like her!!!
Thanks, Amy

mag,
Here are some photos of our snow drifts. Actually, the natural drifts
just don't show well in film, but these are some of the snow plowed up
from our storm. Already the pile is about half the size from the
melting!! One photo is Jess on top of the pile. That pile completely
blocked the window for the horse in one stall!! The other is of the
front of the house by the bird feeders. That is actually a fairly
natural drift that is about 5 1/2 feet tall. I maybe piled some snow
while digging out, but it was high!!!
Thanks, Amy

Hello Mag, Attached are a couple pictures for the website! Gary and
I had a booth for IMPS at the North Attleboro Dog Walk in April. Attached
is a picture of the wonderful banner from Toni, and the Gallon and half pint
as a Doberman and Zeik (Gary and Barbara's 2nd minpin, 1st rescued
dog) got up close and personal. Zeik's sister Nikki was at home the day we
went to this Dog Walk.
Thanks for all you do Mag.

Hi mag!!
These are from Mary Beth our NH volunteer!! The four cuties are May (red),
her MinPin, Rocket, her new IMPS adopted puppy, and Sadie and Lexie who she
was watching for Peter while he was on vacation.
Mary and Crew are her with the whole gang that weekend. May, Rocket, Sadie
and Lexie and Puppy, her Dachshund. Puppy doesn't look too interested here,
but I am told by Mary that Puppy has completely taken over mothering little
Rocket. She LOVES him and bathes him every day!!! Rocket has added a
wonderful life to their home and Mary and Rich are so thrilled!! Even May
who has had some medical issues this year is really taken by the Rocket
Man!!! He lives up to his name and is just great fun!!
Thanks mag!!!

Hi mag!!
Here are some photos from Maine!! There is Inky and his new family-new PA
volunteer Tracy and her husband Jason!! They are going to have so much
fun with Inky, he is the sweetest boy!! Tracy and Jason were such a pleasure
to meet. They drove all the way to Maine, delivered Brutus to Norm in Old
Orchard Beach, and got Inky. Then drove all the way home the next evening!!
The next picture is of my newest little love, Roscoe!! He is the one
with the floppy ears. I just couldn't give this one up!! He stole my heart
and Jess and Colby's, too!! He is the best boy and really doing great. He
was probably abused and is very shy of strangers and would growl and be
snippy. He is coming along great and has the potential to be a super
obedience dog!! The next one is our newest Maine volunteer, Melanie and her MinPin,
Petie, and her Golden Dylan (I hope I have his name right *G*). And one more of Dee and Sylene!! These two are going to be hard to
separate!! Dee loves this little one and she loves her back!! If she decides
to place her, I think we will all be surprised!! Sylene is now spayed, said
goodbye to her last pup (Inky) and is now enrolled in obedience class!!!
Thanks, Amy

HI mag,
This is of Jason, Tracy's husband, our new PA volunteer who helped transport
Brutus from PA to ME. This was the last leg of Brutus' trip from Joy in KS!!
Jason and Tracy really fell for this big boy and said if Norm didn't want
him they would take him!! HAH!! NEW volunteers is right, eh? They are way
too easy!! LOL!! This is of Inky, the last ME puppy, adopted by Tracy and Jason. They left my
house and headed for Bar Harbor for the weekend after adopting Inky Friday
night. It was chilly that weekend, so they had to run to the local Pet Store
and buy him a new fleece!! Here he is in all his sweetness!!! Cheers, Amy IMPS Maine

We (Rusmin & Rianti) adopted Chicopee in October 1999 from foster mom Sarah (Saz) (then)
of New Haven, CT. Having a great success with Chicopee, we adopted Agy in October 2000 from Pam
& Rex of Atlanta, GA. In both cases, I flew to pick them up myself. (The idea of shipping
dogs is a bit traumatic to me.) Essentially both minpins were my birthday presents. We found
them both from IMPS web site.
Chicopee is black/tan, spayed female, docked, uncropped, 16", 16lb, super smart, very
sensitive to human moods, huge vocabulary, party girl, the lead, est birthday Nov 1998. Agy is
red stag, spayed female, docked, cropped, 11", 10lb, super sweet, lap dog, great sniffer, the
darling of all dog parents/friends, est birthday Jan 1994. They both are very healthy, shiny,
clean, and perky. They are in 95% percentile of speed when running around with other dogs in
off-leash parks. They always amaze people on that. Chicopee and Agy have their own play area,
tons of toys, t-shirts, sweaters, raincoats, cool hats, etc., even tv and remote. :-) Friends
say they are the most spoilt minpins they know. Well.. they are, but, they are also disciplined;
so they are well behave.
Again, thanks for keeping IMPS up. You guys do make our home much happier.
Cheers!

This is of Norm and Brutus!! Brutus' final stop and what a great match this
was!! Norm just loves him and Brutus is doing great!! He gets to spend half
his week helping Norm at the ball field where it is totally fenced in and he
can run free. Then the other half is at the beach struttin' his stuff for
all the summer folks. In the winter he will have plenty of folks to dote
over him. Norm's daughter lives upstairs from him and even bought a bed for
Brutus for her condo!!! Just so he would have something when he comes to
visit her each day!!!
