HI mag!!
Here are some photos from the agility show in Topsfield MA last weekend.
Karen G, MA IMPS volunteer, got a MACH (Master Agility Championship) on
her dog, Kuna, on Saturday!! It was great fun because that is "home turf"
for them!!
So, we now have a chocolate, a red, and a black and rust MACH MinPin!!! LOL!!

Lucie's foster father, Bill B., brought her to my home on the evening
of November 1, 2002. We had planned it for a Friday so that I could spend
the entire weekend with her and help her adjust to her new home and mommy.
She slept with me the very first night, although she did get up a few times.
First thing the next morning, I started what is our regular routine by
walking her.
Lucie suffered from insecurity and separation anxiety. She did get into and
destroy some of my things and make some messes, but she is doing much better
now. She is also a very clever food thief, so I have to be very careful
about putting food away or way out of her reach! She bolts under the bed
when she gets a hold of anything she shouldn't have.
She once got a Tupperware container off the middle of my kitchen table by
pulling down the tablecloth. She proceeded to open the container with her
mouth and ate the leftover popcorn inside. Her intelligence still amazes me.
Lucie was overweight, so with my vet's guidance, I put her on restricted
calorie food and biscuits. She has lost at least two pounds and looks much
better now. I walk her at least twice a day, once first thing in the morning
and once in the afternoon as soon as I get home from work. The exercise has
certainly benefited her health as well.
Lucie has developed some cute habits. After I have walked and fed her, I go
into the bathroom to shower. She comes in with me and lays on the bathmat to
wait. Later, after I have eaten my breakfast, I boost her onto the bed. She
also sleeps in my dirty clothesbasket while I am away. Every morning, I put
her little blanket on top of it for her. (Her blanket goes on the bed with
us each night).
Whenever she wants a treat (which is frequently), she'll bang around or
knock over a wastebasket to make enough noise to get my attention when I'm
in another room. Then, she sits and stares at the box of treats on the
counter.
She also opens a drawer in my bathroom (unfortunately for her, there's never
any food in it) or gets into the bathtub to let me know she wants water.
Once, when her water dish was empty, she even opened, knocked over and drank
from a jug of spring water I left on the kitchen floor!
Lucie is very affectionate. She likes to sit in my lap and 'hug' me with her
paws on my shoulders and give me 'poochie smoochies' right on the mouth. She
cuddles with me under the covers in bed and also under a blanket on the
couch when I watch TV.
I had lost my little red female Min Pin, Rory, back on August 30, 2002. She
was nearly 17 years old. I had adopted her from a co-worker when she was 5.
She did not mix and play well with other animals and needed to be in a home
by herself. After she was gone, I was very lonely and heartbroken, so I
prayed for God to show me the way to find the right dog for me.
I didn't even know that IMPS existed. Then I found Lucie while surfing the
net. There was something in her eyes that captivated me and her story
reminded me so much of Rory. Lucie is a very special little dog and I love
her very much. Like Rory, she also needed to be in a one-dog home with lots
of love and attention. It was a match made in Heaven! I hope we have many
wonderful years to spend together!
Diana
NOTE: Lucy was one of the "Texas Four" who came from Cookie (IMPS TX).

Hi mag!!
Below is about a little foster who is blind and diabetic in VT. I thought these
would be fun for the web site...........
Hi
PeeWee seems to be doing well and adjusting. He gets along well with the
others, cats included. I believe the cats have learned Peewee won't chase
them :) He is learning to trust me and we go for a little walk to the great
smelling telephone pole everyday. He amazes us with his accomplishments and
is learning my commands of easy, wait & lets go. Knows his way around the
house and has even followed me upstairs to the computer!! We had to do a
little house proofing so he doesn't get hurt but all in all, all is well. He
doesn't mind his bath and is very good about nail clipping. We have a Vet
appointment at the end of the week to evaluate him on his new food and get
another nail clipping.

This is CT dog Brandy with her new family in NJ, Steve and Lee B. The first one is Brandy
with her Dad Steve. What a proud Papa!!
Then there is Brandy with her best stuffed toy that she loves to sleep with.
Finally, we have Brandy with her minpin sister Lucy.
Steve and Lee are still trying to figure out how 2 minpins that are both under 10 lbs can
take up so much room in the bed.

Hi mag,
Below are some photos of Penny, a special needs girl we got in to rescue in
NH. She has degenerative joint disease and is sadly NOT an old dog. A
wonderful home adopted her and with the help of their swimming pool and good
Vet care have kept her happy and healthy. She has lost weight and runs all
over the place. She even hops on her back legs when getting ready for a care
ride like any other MinPin!! She can now run up and down the stairs!! And
they adopted an older MinPin from a home in MA and he helps to keep Penny
company. Here are photos of Judd, the old man who is slowing down a little,
and Penny!!
Thanks, Amy IMPS Maine

Hello - I have finally gotten a scanner and would like to let some of Moose's friends know
how he is doing! I adopted him through IMPS a few
years ago. He just turned 4 last month.
We did have some issues in the beginning - he seems to have major separation
anxiety and is not afraid to yell at me when I leave him! After trying to
treat him with medications (didn't work) and a behavior therapist (didn't
work), now we understand each other. He just gets lonely. I am seriously
adopting a little friend for him. My roommate and I have opposite
schedules, so he is not alone too much anymore and he is much happier.
Moosie loves my family and has an awesome time when he sees his cousin sassy
(white westie in the christmas pic). He is such a bundle of love - he runs
from person to person whining, yelping, wagging, licking, jumping on them.
This is how he is everytime he sees me or meets someone new.
We just love each other so much and he is so cuddly! He sleeps in my bed,
under the covers, and HAS to be touching me no matter what. Even if it is
just a paw on my foot. He does the funniest things - but I now realize that
this is typical minpin clowning around behavior. I have the hardest time
getting mad at him - I swear he tries to make me laugh when he is in
trouble! He has an attitude - that is for sure - and reminds me of a
teenager!
Although he is 4, his energy level astounds me! I cannot understand it! He
never runs low on energy. Sometimes I bring him to my work (a private
aquarium) and he spends hours looking around under fish tanks, trying to get
into the open tanks. It is in an old mill building with wooden floors.
After exploring, he comes up to me covered in cobwebs! He can get in and
out of the smallest spaces. I have to be really careful about his "houdini"
maneuvers. I swear he can open doors.
Anyway, I am very glad that Moose and I found each other. He is my huge
minpin (20 pounds), and I love him! Thanks to all who made it possible!
Michelle and Moose

Hi mag!!
Here is Baron who was adopted in Maine and soon after the temps plummeted
to -20!!! MinPins feet freeze in NO time in that weather, so his new home
went right out and bought him supplies!! He now loves to have his booties on
because he knows it will help his feet in the frigid cold!! :D
He is so handsome and they love him so much!! He even goes visiting with an
elderly man they help with. That man can't wait for his visits with Baron!!
He gets a HUGE smile on his face when he sees Baron trotting in.
Thanks, Amy IMPS Maine

I would like you to meet Maggie, she is a sweet little girl of 6 years old that was adopted
from IMPS by Irene S. of NH. What a cutie wouldn't you
say???? She has found a loveing home and a best friend in my mother. The two of them are quite a
pair to see, and I hope they will be with each other for a long, long time . Thank you
IMPS for bringing these two together.

It's been almost a year since Sam and Marko have come to live with us.
It's hard to believe.
Jim and I knew right away that they would become family members and not
just foster dogs. Although it took me a few weeks to let Amy know of
our thoughts. Going from two dogs to four dogs was a big step. But I
have to say, it's been one of the best decisions we've ever made.
When the wheather is'nt below zero !!!!! :-( we all go for a walk
up and down our long driveway. Dunkin my Sheltie and Marko both stay
off leash and walk along beside Sam and Rizzo and I. Marko loves
exploring the woods. He does really well staying close by. During
blueberry season, he loved eatting the blueberries! I would follow him
when I wanted to pick to find the best patches! This fall when the
wheather started to get colder and the hunters were out and about, the
boys got new Lands End coats. Marko's is orange and Sam's is yellow.
They are really warm lined with fleece and the hunters will be able to
spot us. I wear lots of orange too and Dunkin and Rizzo both have their
fall walking attire as well.
The photo I've attached is the three min pins in their favorite chair.
What you can't see from the picture is that the chair is facing a
little wood stove. The boys love the wood stove! They sit in that
chair and look out the window and enjoy the fire. When their not on
that chair, they are usually curled up on the couch or in someone's lap.
They don't spend too much time in their kennel any more. I got them a
new one. It's wicker and quite a bit bigger. Their favorite blankets
and pillow are still in it, of coarse. Dunkin my sheltie loves sleeping
in it when it's vacant! At night they all sleep with us. Three min
pins and 2 humans are just right in a king size bed! Dunkin sleeps on
the floor. He's really furry and has tried sleeping with us but always
gets down because he's too hot! Sam loves the bed. He heads right up
stairs when I say anything about bedtime.
Sam also loves people. When anyone new comes over, Sam has to try out
their lap. He litterally plops right into whoever it is. Consiquently
I have friends and family who ask how he is before anything else when
they call or e-mail. He is becoming famous!
I think they are happy. I know they have come to love Jim and I. We
love them so much.
Sincerely,

This first photo is my baby boy Squeaker, and this is his favorite pass time. Now I ask, who
wouldn't want to come back in their next life time as a min-pin in my house??????
The 2nd photo is Pokey and her best man, her daddy. Pokey was adopted from IMPS, and I think
she has settled in well. She is top dog, or should I say she thinks she is top dog...lol.
Squeaker, Pokey, and Tyson after a long day of keeping the jeep safe. I took this pic one hour
after we spent the day out on the town. You should see these three keeping strange humans at bay,
it's a riot.
By the way, the boxer really thinks he's a min-pin, and I really would hate to burst
his bubble. Ruth from NH

HI mag!!
I just had this done of my Jess. She is a MinPin/Aussie mix!! Yep, mother
was a MinPin and father was an Aussie. She is 15" and 15lbs. She is the dog
who got me started in MinPins. She is so smart and does awesome in agility
and obedience. She lived in a kennel for her first year and a half and has
some "issues", but has done so well!! She is everyone's favorite!! My friend
did this watercolor. Her art can be seen at www.dianesnow.com.

Hi mag,
Here are some photos of what I did the other day. It was almost 50 degrees
out here in Maine and I just had to head to the beach for a ride!! My horse
just LOVES to roll in the sand when we are done. I can barely get her down
the path to the beach before she THROWS herself in the soft sand for a good
scratch. I thought these were really cute. The one with the VERY strange
look is her shaking the sand off. You can actually see the sand coming off
her if you look closely.
