HELP

Mon, 8 Feb 1999 08:16:52 -0800 (PST) - from Sheila

I have been in contact with a lady in VA who has a MinPin that she ahs had for 6 years. She has just had a baby and moved into a new home that doesn't have a fenced yard. She doesn't really want to give up the minpin but doesn't know what else she can do. she feels that her minpin(Mason) is not getting the attention she deserves. She is very distraught about having to give up Mason.

I need help with this one. I am scheduled to pick up Mason on Saturday but if we can assist her with keeping Mason, I feel that would be the best option for both the owner and for Mason.

Just to update everyone on Mason, the 6y/o female from VA. I will be picking her up on Saturday morning. As soon as I get her home I will let everyone know how she reacts to other minpins and everything else she does. If I remember correctly Liz sent me an email with potential homes. I will call them to see if anyone is interested.

I will keep everyone posted and I will continue to look for potential homes(ie. by visiting Petsmart and talking people into rescue instead of going to the Petstore.)

I just thought I would let everyone know that Mason the rescue from Northern Virginia is adjusting well to my two. I am still looking for a home for Mason. Her owner said that Mason was aggressive with other dogs and with kids. I have yet to see any of the aggression towards my two MinPins. Yes there was the initial growling at each other until they sniffed and decided it was OK.

Mason keeps running to the door looking for her owner and whinning. My husband is the only one she will let pick her up since we brought her home. She will run to him for protection from the other two. She is very well mannered compared to my two little hellions. She is a black and tan about 6-8 pounds she is smaller than my little girl but stockier.

My next door neighbors submitted an application to be potential owners, but I haven't heard anything back. I know that anyone who sees Mason will fall in love with her on site.

I have to go and play with my two before they get to jealous of the newcomer.

Sorry so long,

Sheila, Dutchy, Taz, and Mason

My neighbors changed their minds. They want to wait for a younger MinPin. My husband and I have to watch Mason closely as she is now starting to show some agression towards my yo dogs.

Her owner also called and ssaid that she wants Mason back. Mason somehow knows when she calls, because she sits and whines and runs to the door as if to say "OK lets go home".

I am at a loss as to what to do. The family in Richmond , VA is willing to take her, but the owner doesn't want her to go anywhere but back to her. The owner was in tears when I picked up Mason. The owner is now trying to find out how quickly she can put some kind of fence in so that she can keep Maason.

I will keep everyone posted.

After some reassurance for Mason's owner, she will be on her way to a new home Saturday in Richmond. She will be going to a home that currently doesn't have any other dogs, which in Masons opinion is just fine. I am trying to get Mason used to being in a crate. This is something that her previous owner has done since she fights you to go into the crate. The crate that came with Mason is on the small side for her.

I will post more on Saturday after this loving little bundle leaves.

Just wnated to let everyone know that Mason fell inlove with the Jacksons. She went stright to them without crying or shaking. She is associating going to a new home with a bath. I warned the Jacksons of this.

I was very sad to see her go, but I know that she went to a family that loved her on first sight.

Susan, I mailed the donation check the Jacksons gave me to you.
