Rusty

Susan Goldman advised IMPS of a dog in Miami needing a home. I was given the
name of the woman who had the dog and made contact with her yesterday. Today
I drove to Miami to get Rusty (that's what I've named him for now). He's
about a year old. Docked, natural erect ears, long legs, small paws, big
eyes, very lean and 100% lovable. We got home about an hour ago and he's
already had his shower and his nails have been clipped (I don't think they
were EVER cut). The woman who had him found him wandering stray in her
neighborhood. She's elderly and has aging Dobermans, so she couldn't keep
him. I give her credit for contacting Susan Goldman.
Anyway, I contacted Carla in Ocala who's been on the IMPS approved home list
and it appears that Rusty will be heading to Ocala after his neutering this
week. Details to be worked out. Stay tuned!

Good morning all. Rusty says hi to all and especially to his new mom. He
enjoyed the night ~ actually he was treated to a few late night movies. This
morning he's happy as can be. Came running to me ~ jumping up with his front
paws (got to teach him some rear paw spring action). His favorite chair is by
the window in the family room. Wonderful view of the outside and inside
towards the kitchen! He'll be adequately spoiled by the time he heads to
Ocala on Tuesday or so. Carla, you'd better get him out of here before he
turns into a male version of my three prima donnas. :):)

Just a quick update on Rusty. He's having a blast here. He loves the girls'
toy box! He has toys strewn all over the floor in the family room. His
favorites are the squeak ones. He's been play killing a Hartz Maddog all
afternoon.
Tomorrow a.m. he goes to the vet and assuming all is well, he'll go to Carla
on Tuesday. She's really getting a super little dog. He's probably closer to
the minpin standard than any of mine. He's got the hackney gait, appears to
be the right size, etc.
As usual, foster mom will be miserable letting him go, so I'm not even going
to think about it. Got to run, my girls and guy await!

Today's Rusty's big day ~ he'll meet his new mom, Carla and go home to Ocala.
The trip to Ocala has got to be about 4-5 hours, so Carla and I have decided
to meet part way ~ I'll have camera in hand and tears in my eyes for sure!
He was neutered, tested, microchipped, licensed, and given shots yesterday.
Thankfully, he checked out as a healthy, one year old minpin. He is SUCH a
sweet dog ~ if I didn't have my girls, he'd be living in Naples. Last night
we snuggled together under the covers, minus the girls (they are not talking
to me right now). He couldn't get close enough! Poor thing was hurting
around 3 a.m., so I gave him a baby aspirin. That seemed to do the trick
again (I had given him one last night also) as he settled back to sleep until
6:15 when the girls came scratching at the door.
Well, have to get dressed & head North. Wish us all luck!

This is an update on Rusty of Ocala...First of all thank you Susan (of IMPS)
for your hard work and dedication in the rescue of Rusty, he is sooo
beautiful. He is a 1 year old male with a great personality, and has made
himself at home and is settling down quite well. He is very loving and likes
to be cuddled .. We are working on going up stairs (which are open in the
back) but each day he get more confident so it won't be long till he has this
mastered!! He has been a wonderful addition to my family..With built in
"grandparents" that live next door who just love to spoil him!! And whats a
family without another sibling ?? Babe (a 4 year old poodle) who is really
becoming quite atachted to him in such a short time...Many,many thanks to all
of you who are in rescues and thank you once again for this little heart to
love......Carla,Babe and Rusty

Rusty has made himself home!!! After being bounce around from being lost to
a short stay with an eldery couple to being rescued by Susan to being shipped
north to Ocala...This handsome guy is a doll (!?!)...He is quite the snuggler
in the morning which I find myself racing to work to get there on time....He
just love to play...he and Babe (Poodle) I think they try to agerivate each
other and take each others toys and run from each other.. the speed limit
around here is not strickley inforced.....He has learned to get up stairs
with a running start...so I have to make sure I attend to the doors
especially the sliding glass door...Rusty has added so much life to my
home..I just love that little guy!!! Well Babe don't always say that....I'll
continue to keep yo'all posted...Carla,Babe and Rusty
