Could you please put these pictures where everyone can enjoy them. Buddy was a foster dog that came from ID and was adopted to Carly and Alan in Seattle WA. I fell in love with the boy, and wanted so much to keep him for myself, but I knew that this home was the perfect home for him.

Here's a few pics of our foster Molly--now on the long road to recovery. On May 28, Molly had major stomach surgery (her second in one week) to remove a portion of her intestine which had thickened to the point of blocking all food from leaving her stomach. It's a rare condition that vets find mostly in small dogs. She's wearing a cute little t-shirt to hide her stomach tube (that we didn't have to use!), which will be removed June 11. This poor little girl has really had a hard time, but, thanks to IMPS generosity, will be able to lead a normal, healthy life -- and savor every bite! She's still very thin (her t-shirt also hides that!), and has lost a lot of muscle mass, but is eager to eat and run with the other dogs (just a bit more slowly). I'll send more pics of Molly as she begins her recovery. Thanks to everyone who was rooting for her!

This is March on Charkara Gattaca. His previous owner passed away. We adopted him through IMPS in Montana. He is a retired stud & has learned from us the value of a warm blankie & a big soft bed. He helped mend our broken hearts from the loss of our other Min Pin Alanna, who passed away 2/13/04 of respiratory & heart failure. We are so grateful to IMPS for all they do.

Attached are pictures we took when Earl Rossell met Tinker for the first time and pictures sent to us by the Rossell's.. Tinker has lived with The Rossell's for a week now and it seems like a match made in heaven. Earl called last night and talked for 30 minutes about how happy he was to have Tinker a part of his life. Says Tinker follows him everywhere, goes in the truck everytime he has to go anywhere, how he snuggles up in bed and how well Tinker and their other min pin Arthur get along together. I don't think we could have found a better home for Tink.

Finally a moment to write back to you!! Went to the vets on Monday after work They of course all adored her. They have a celebration wall with pictures of dogs with their befores and after photos. So Molly got her before picture taken. They checked her ears and no nasties there anymore! Heart sounded good. They called that afternoon to get record sent from the old vets.

She weighed 23.2 lbs on there big scale, but 22 on our scale at home. The vet here wants her to lose between ½ and 1 pound a month. She also suggested giving her baby carrots and green beans as treats to supplement her WD. They were very pleased with her overall health and will call me if they have concerns when the get the reconds from the other vets.

I have been carrying Molly down the stairs (4 steps) to the outside and up and down the stairs from the basement. She was always able to go up the outside stairs. Starting later on Sunday she started going up the basement stairs once in a while. This morning I waited to see what she wanted to do and she bounded up the stairs like the trooper she is. And surprise surprise she made it down the outside stairs all on her own. Of course I was hovering close by. Trying not to be overprotective but also not wanting those precious little legs strained. Anyway she is just doing so well.

My first objective goal was to have her be able to go up and down the stairs on her own. (just can't help that physcial therapy training). Her inital present level of performance was being able to go up the short flight of stairs independently but needing to be carried up the long flight and down both the short and the long flight. It is only Tuesday and she has already met the next two short term objectives!!! I am so proud of her. I don't think my heart could stand even giving her the option on the long flight down for a while. And then I think I will put the easy walk harness on her so I can support her going down. It is not a very pretty color. I think I will go for purple. They do not make pink ones. At some point she will need a small. So as soon as we get in a small purple one I am going to snarf it up and save it for her. Buddha is green, Fusci is blue, Baka is black, Molly will be purple. (need to work on a special color for Tequila, he sort of has a mix match right now). One of my occupational therapists here at work goes by the nickname of princess, I told her she has compeition now!!

Also got a doggy sofa for the living room, so she has a place to lay down in the living room. It blends with the decor! It sits right next to my chair and I can pet her right there. It is very cute. I put her bed in my bedroom and she continues to sleep through the night with no potty accidents.

I put her special crate in my bedroom so she has some space staked out in the "confinment area" she is in with the purple rugs!! I got her a cute danty leather leash for her to grow into. ( or shrink into). Might have to trade it off for something purple though. The Easy Walk works well right now. Then we will transition from it to the pretty pink harness once it fits. Then transition back to a purple Easy Walk when she gets small enough. Baka and Buddha both wear smalls. Molly is in a medium right now. The straps are even smaller than on the harness and you can really only see the one strap across the back. So definitely does not look like a pot bellied pig. I think she likes it and boy she really does like to go.

Tonight Fusci and I go to perform at a retirment home here in town. Wednesday night is going to be "LOST" night at the home of the folks with the borders and weins so Molly is going to get to go there every week. Thursday is Rally O class and Small Dog Headstart. Fusci is the demo dog. Saturday Fusci has Paw and Order (Special Canine Unit) and Baka has clicker training class. Sunday Buddha goes to his visit to the assisted living facility.

I really try to have at least one special thing for each dog to go to each week with just me. As you can tell I do not have Tequila in the rotation right now. But I need to. So Buddha goes twice a month, but he can also hang out with the Ruff Review and go to the nursing homes with Fusci, since he is Delta certified. Baka gets to go to class once a week. Molly to visit the weins once a week. Hmm Tequila. I think that I will take Molly on a field trip to Pet Co once a week as well (she does love to go).

I will start Molly in classes when she can go up and down all of the stairs without being totally out of breath. That should be a pretty good indicator of her physical strength and stamina.

Hmmm Tequila. Tequila's problem is that he tends to shut down in classes and won't even eat. On the other hand if he doesn't go he will never be able to work through that. So I guess we will just have to start going. Even if it is the same class over and over and over again and again. So enough from me.

How are you doing and all of yours? It was such good fun to meet Shorty and Cooper and Minna and you and your husband. I do hope that you come by the next time you come to Spokane.

Hi Vicki,

We went to see Snoop and Dick yesterday to see how everything was going. As you can see, Snoop is a transformed dog. I wouldn't have recognized her from the thin scared puppy I pulled out of the crate at the airport! They are a match made in heaven and are together all the time. Dick said she prefers his home canned elk meat with the vegetable over the dry food. She isn't too spoiled!!!! Sure makes it all worth it when you see the happiness coming from both of them. I will also try to send this to Susan in Colorado and she can let Mariah's Promise and Patti know how well this adoption went. If you remember, Dick was going to get Princess from CO and it fell through and just at that time there was an urgent message to rescue a dog from Pikes Peak Humane Society. Mariah's Promise was able to get there before they put her to sleep , got her to Patti and made it to the airport. What a lucky day for this puppy! A Thank You is needed to all who helped this deserving dog.

Hi Mag,

Want to share about a great vet here in Oregon named Dr. Goza. We rescued 3 dogs in January from an Idaho shelter and one had a broken leg. The vet there treated her, but it came undone and once she was transported to Washington for fostering, she had to be taken to another vet. Our volunteer, Allene, named her Sunny and took her to her own vet, Dr. Goza. Dr. Goza x-rayed and found that everything had slipped and the first "fix" wasn't salvageable. He had to remove the loose pins/plate and replaced the pin inside the bone. He put on a splint, which was changed 3 times over the course of treatment. Dr. Goza supplied antibiotics, pain meds and a cone to prevent Sunny from chewing her leg. She developed a cut above the splint, and he ended up putting stitches in there, also. Sunny was just cleared for adoption and has found her new home! Dr. Goza treated her from January to April and refused to bill IMPS for any of it! As Allene says, "What a guy!" Here is a picture of our Sunny with super vet Dr. Goza.

Vicki G, my RC, said I should forward this to you for the IMPS website pictures. Luci (and her other half Ricky) was adopted by me last year from the Tenneessee IMPS Region. As you can probably tell... she looks a little bothered. She was not to thrilled in sitting still, she spotted a squirel in a tree close to her. She is quite the hunter.

Hi Mag,

This is Hope, the 9 week old special needs puppy we have taken into rescue in our region. We were told she was born with spina bifida, but we have not had any definitive testing done as yet. She has some neurological damage and problems getting around, but she is definitely all Min Pin! She's very sweet and fiesty and will play as long as she can stay on her feet.

These first pictures are of her playing at my home. The last picture is of Marva and Hope when I delivered her to Marva, who is her foster mom now.

I am sending a few pictures from the Pacific Northwest region of IMPS's first annual Min Pin party. We held it at an 80 acre farm in Olympia, WA called Fido's Farm. It was wonderful meeting each other and the dogs had a great time running freely across the pasture that was fenced specifically for the little dogs.

I am sending along some pictures of Hope, the little 9 week old puppy we took in with spina bifida. Her owners had been told to have her put down, but they hoped we could give her a chance at a new life. The first picture was sent to me by her owner.

The vets who initially saw Hope felt she probably wouldn't survive, but didn't want to come right out and advise she be put down. They saw the same spark in her to live that we did. Hope found a wonderful foster home and because of IMPS was able to get the diagnostic tests she needed. Unfortunately, the news wasn't good. Hope had more problems than we had even feared--spina bifida, scoliosis, an eye problem called occipital dysphasia, and worst of all, two cysts in her brain that were compressing the brain. Surgery was too great a risk and the prognosis wasn't good even if she survived. So Hope's foster mom took her home to love for as long as she had to live. The second picture shows her at that time.

The final picture is Hope today at 9 months! Yes, she has a determination to live you wouldn't believe, and is ALL Min Pin! Her foster mom has since adopted her and says Hope has been a great blessing in her life. She's "fluffier" than usual because she is on a low dose of prednisone, the only prescription she's on, but it does seem to control some of the symptoms that made it difficult for her to get around. This little girl is quite an inspiration to all of us and has taught several vets NEVER to give up Hope.
