Here are photos of the Sept 21st booth we had at the Grand Opening of the Suncoast Humane
Society Low Cost Spay & Neuter Clinic. Our table theme was Halloween and we sold doggie
treats, people treats, and Halloween scarves for doggies! We had 3 adoptions - both those in
photo - Bailey & Bo plus Heidi (not pictured). Tracy & Diann (both volunteers)are
pictured holding Ramsey (still available for adoption as of 10/14/02. I am sitting (as Always)
at the booth!

Hi Mag, I got an update from Ky's family he was adopted to in August this
year. (FL)
Thanks,
Well, Ky is doing great! He is great with everyone here.
He loves David and loves to wrestle a little...he loves his squeaky toy
that we got him.
The baby is here and Ky has become hypervigilant. He
barks at anyone at the door now. If Noah cries he is the first one to
sniff and find out why. He will sit on the bed and look at the crib or
go under the crib to see if he can get to Noah. Ky is super great!!
Here are some pics. I tried to get one with him and the girls but no luck.
Ky is doing great even with strange kids. He just leaves the room! He got
out of his harness when Dave walked him the other nite. Ky walked around
the block while Dave follwed in the car, He came right to me!

We love him very much. He is entertaining and very well mannered, and we look forward to
many years of happiness together.
Thank you.

Hi!
I have a few new pics of my best buddies that I would like to add to the website if
possible. Cute one of Katie in black and white sunning herself on the deck... although
the two colour pics are most recent... it is NOT very warm here in December... the only
drawback to living in Canada is the Canadian winters!!! We set up a greenhouse for the
dogs (so they don't get too cold when they have to do their business)... just a tad spoiled!!!
Once again I would like to thank Cherie and Katie for allowing me to adopt my little Katie
"aka Baby Face"... she's a hoot!!!
Happy holidays to everyone and a big bravo zulu to all of you for the great work you do for
these wonderful dogs!

Hi everyone,
Hi Katie - Do you remember Bugsy from Atlanta (now Louie from Ocala)? Thought you'd like to
see his Christmas picture. I laugh everyday now, he is so funny and so sweet and I'm so grateful
for the opportunity to have him in my life.

Hi there! We got Ky summer of 2002 while pregnant with Noah. We have 4 kids total - his,
mine, and now an ours. They are 14, 8, 7, and now 7 months. We love Ky and how he loves to
sleep under the covers at my feet. My husband is overseas currently and Ky has 'talked' to him
on the phone.
Ky loves our kids. We don't really have any problems except if they have friends over and
they run around. Ky is gentle and loving and even though not recommended for little kids,
LOVES our kids to death. He even protected our house one night. Someone broke into our house
while we were home early one morning. He was under the covers in the 7 y/o room(which he rarely
does, that's where the cat likes to sleep) and heard someone in the room, he started barking and
the 7y/o said that Ky chased the guy and even tried to bite his ankles as he jumped out the
window. Ky then ran barking into our room and ran back and forth from our room to the 7 y/o
room. We were so proud of Ky!!!! He's been super vigilant of any strangers since.
Ky loves the baby! Noah can pull on his ears and 'pet' him. Granted Ky will only stand it for
awhile, but he does. He also now realizes Noah is a food source. Whenever he was in his bouncy
seat to eat, Ky would wait to lick Noah's hands or mouth(SEE PICTURE). Now that Noah is in a
high chair and eating cookies, Ky waits by the high chair for Noah to be done. Ky is starting to
know Noah's name and I can get him to 'get Noah'(which means going and touching his nose on
Noah's arm. Noah loves to see Ky run around the room.
Ky loves popcorn, and stealing food, especially baby bottles and hiding them in his crate!
He is a slick one. We still love him, though. He has picked out the 8 y/o and me as his best
buds. The 7 y/o room to poop in if he's mad, and he stays away from the 14 y/o for some unknown
reason (probably just cuz she's a teenager.) Ky loves it when the little ones are outside and he
can play ball with them.
Here's a picture of Ky and daddy. Daddy misses Ky and I'm sure there'll be some growling from
Ky cuz I don't know that he'll recognize daddy, but we will do fine, I'm sure.
We have 2 cats, 1 cat Ky just sniffs and the other cat, who weighs 20
pounds, Ky thinks is a toy. He goes up to the cat and tries to pounce.
It's the cutest thing!! The cat doesn't like it, but Ky does. We love Ky so much and are glad we got the chance to meet him.

I finally finished that roll of film I purchased the day I adopted Tarzan back in February!
I received the email notice about the fundraiser and thought this was a good time to do a little
sharing on our MinPin experiences. Most of it you know! But I wanted to let you know he's doing
very well. Thank you very much.
My first minpin experience was an inherited little "tyke" named Duke. He was my daughter's
pride and joy and she had run into some tough times and I was "loaned" Duke. I have always been
an animal lover and of course love cats and dogs alike, all sizes, all breeds. Duke was
definitely Heather's boy and it took a while for him to be as bonded to me as he was to her. I
already had a dog, Sydney (a beautiful male cocker
and 2 cats) when I said I would take Duke and
his two cat brothers, Max and Isaac. Syd is a character too and always been a typical cocker;
never wished to bond with any other dogs. When Duke arrived Duke idolized Syd and won him
over. Syd has been a senior citizen for 3-4 years now and Duke really helped Syd find the
fountain of youth having his energetic, always challenging little partner at his side. I had
Duke for almost 2y. In 2002, I remarried, sold my home and was about to move to FL. The
Saturday prior to the big move Duke was hit by a car and gone from my life. I was devastated
and cried for weeks over that loss. And still do to this day.
My other pets are just as special to me but Duke was an always in your face, at your side
kind of guy and the loss was immeasureable. I decided the right thing to do was to adopt a min
pin rescue in Duke's honor. So I found Tarzan. I actually wasn't looking for me but for an
aunt and uncle who wanted to adopt a small dog. I fell in love as soon as I saw his picture on
your website. I went through your qualification process and had to work on my husband... he was
content with 4 cats and 1 dog. He was dubious, but knew how much it meant to me.
I stopped at my aunt's nursing home on the way home and shared him with her. Then we headed
"home" and I prayed everyone would welcome him. They did and he was more than a gentleman the
first few weeks. Now, he's been with us almost 3m. I can sincerely say he is very happy.
He's very comfortable with Syd and the cats. Harasses the cats when he can get away with it
but like Duke not really malicious (borders between obnoxious and playful). My female cat
takes no grief and quickly puts him in his place and he respects that!
We've been working on jumping and trying to keep the "potty training" restricted to our yard
even though we go for walks(Syd and Tarzan together) two-three times a day I'm trying to make
those just that walks. He sometimes try to lunge at large trucks and that's definitely
something we don't want so we are working on that habit also. He got under the fence one
evening about 1-2m ago. Fortunately I was sitting in the yard and saw him do it. We fixed that
by adding some 2X4s and raising the level of the soil. He got out another time through the gate
(it was unlatched). He was gone for just a few minutes. I took the car out and fortunately he
came right to me and jumped in. His excursions so far have been "innocent finds". We consider
ourselves fortunate and have learned from them but you definitely have to stay on your toes!
He wants to be with you all the time. When he's out in the yard he does his doggy snooping and
turf marking but then he's right back with you or sprawled out in the sunshine close by.
My husband has gotten attached to Tarzan. Insists on calling him "DooDooToo" (we used to
call Duke DooDoo) but Tarzan doesn't want to relinquish his name although he does responds
to "Mr. T" sometimes. That's OK.
Related to the website, you are welcome to post the comments and the pictures or any portion
thereof. (I enjoyed reading the other minpin stories. My heart goes out to Hannah on her loss
of Annie. I understand, I do. ). Keep up the good work one and all!

Thank you for the email regarding the raffle information. All the pictures and letters were
very exciting and interesting to read and see. We have two Minpins now since we adopted the one
from IMPS. We just love them with all our hearts! Duke the bigger one is the one we got from
IMPS. He sure is a handful compaired to the other who is so calm and just a little lover boy!!!

This is Little Bit and her new family. We met at Bark Park and I think there was some of
that love at first sight stuff going on. You know me, I immediately checked her feet to see
if she truly was a Birkenstock kind of gal - the Birks were present and accounted for -
obviously my own theory - if you love your feet enough to wear ugly shoes, you will love your
dog without question. If you are willing to subject yourself to comments about your choice
in footwear, you will not give a fig about how people react to the way you gush over your dog.
This was a feel good day for all except the tearful former owner... it was a tough day for her. I believe Little Bit will have a wonderful life with her new mom and dad and it was great to be a part of something so happy.

I wanted to send along a couple of pictures and the story... just love those happy endings.
Kelly (her new name) came to us as an owner give up with "hot spots". Those hot spots turned
out to be 2nd degree burns that were allowed to go untreated. When I saw the extent of the
burns we rushed right to the vet and then I went into full and extreme panic mode. Who on
earth was going to be able to foster and provide the diligent care that was necessary with
burns like this... I called the potential home that I had for this dog and just started
blathering - about the dog, about the care that was going to be necessary, about the expense -
time, money, and emotional - that would be involved. And there was complete silence at the
other end of the line.
And then the voice said "Bring her over". Aline had suffered burns herself... she knew how
painful the care could be, she understood the importance of keeping the wounds clean, and she
wanted to foster this dog. About that time, I remembered to breathe again and I did a very bad
thing - I practically shouted YES, I was so thankful that Aline had been burned. That's not a
very nice thing for a person to be thankful about. But I knew this was meant to be.
That was over a month ago and I want to show you all how wonderfully this little girl has
healed. She is now a playful, happy, and loving, part of a family that wants her for herself.
She may not be the prettiest from a purely aesthetic view point, but she is the most beautiful
dog that I have seen in a long time and Aline and her husband John are some pretty beautiful
people as well.
I had been holding off on posting her picture until she was completely healed and Aline told
me "Don't you dare" - I think this little girl has a real home now. I see an adoption coming in
the near future.

I'm sending two pics of Ripley... the first picture shows Ripley before her surgery - her
leg was essentially useless and a constant source of infection, so off it came. Within 2 hours
of her surgeries, she was bouncing around and happy happy happy. Ripley was truly hard to let
go, but she has a great family and as soon as everyone is back, I will send a picture of the
whole family - that gives me an excuse to go see her again. On the day that she went to her
new home, I was loading up the truck with her "stuff" and when she saw me take the cow chair
out the fence and put it into the truck, she went nuts... tried to squeeze through the fence
and escape. That was HER cow chair and it was not leaving without her. Ripley and her cow
chair have a wonderful home that is only 6 miles from my house, a family of four humans, 2
other rescue dogs, and her own cat to ignore.

Here is a picture of Cookie and PART of her new family. Cookie will have five kids to play
with - I think it was karma or something, as she came from a home with five kids. Sometimes
things don't work out at first so that they can work out as they were meant to be a little bit
down the road; and for Cookie, this is very true. She has five kids to play with AND there is
another dog in the house - she has already started letting him know who's the boss.

Tarzan in his new home
Long before Tarzan and I met I got to know him through his foster family Michelle K. was
so kind and patient with all my questions. I live on the east coast of FL and Michelle is on
the west coast. We met on a Sunday in February. She and her husband met me we visited for a
while getting to know each other and then Tarzan and I were headed home. I could tell he was
anxious leaving his "loving foster family" and I felt so bad for him. After all he had gone
through this twice now already. The trip home was several hours he would stand on my lap and
look out the window, he was trying to figure it all out. Michelle and her husband told me he
LOVES to go for a walk so after a while we stopped He was euphoric I couldn't get over
how strong he was!!! He would make a good sled dog! Once we were back in the car he seemed to
settle down. Part way on my lap, part way sleeping on the passenger side.

At first he had to be with me every minute. He's become more confident now. He doesn't
have to sit on my lap if I'm working just within sight. That makes me happy that he feels
secure enough now to do that. These pictures were taken when cleaning up after company,
Syd on the right Tarzan on the left and Akeem on the counter top/stove! These three
are my prime "treat" seekers!! The last picture is my female cat, Pepper peering out
from an advantage point.

Pinky
Hope all is well with you!! Just wanted to send you an update on Pinky, the little "pink"
pin I got with bad demodex last year in December. I have attached her before and after pics.
Here she is 11 months later with almost a full coat!!!!! She has gained a little weight and
isnt that same skinny nekkid dog I brought home. At 4 pounds she rules the roost here. Even my
Military Macaw has learned to call her name perfectly (he likes words starting with P) Please
let everyone know I sent the pics so they can see how well she is doing. My vet had said she
may have folicle damage and may not get her coat back fully or may have patches but it seems
even as bad as she was her folicles over time are just fine. We think she is still getting more
hair and maybe by next year she will have a full coat again.
Best wishes,
Katie
